2014 Nissan NV200 Taxi

2014 Nissan NV200 Taxi. After a rigorous, two-year competitive bid selection process, the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) selected the Nissan NV200 Taxi in May 2011 as the exclusive taxi of New York City beginning in late 2013. The Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, the Design Trust for Public Space and Smart Design also have engaged with Nissan and the TLC in the vehicle’s design.

With more than 13,000 taxis traveling a cumulative 500 million miles per year, building a taxi with the utmost durability is critical to the development process. Drawing on its full range of commercial vehicle experience – including providing taxis for municipalities around the world – Nissan will conduct significant validation testing for the Nissan NV200 Taxi prior to the vehicle going on sale. Additionally, as acknowledged by Mayor Bloomberg during the May 2011 announcement, the Taxi of Tomorrow will be the first New York taxi to be crash-tested with taxi equipment installed, including the partition.

Nissan has also partnered with the Braun Corp., the world leader in automotive mobility products, to develop, engineer and produce a creative solution for a wheelchair-accessible taxi in New York. Drawing on Braun’s innovation and experience in the mobility industry, Nissan will offer a mobility solution to New York taxi medallion holders when the taxis go on sale in 2013.

As part of the Taxi of Tomorrow program, Nissan is also working with the City and taxi owners on a pilot program to study the use of zero-emission, electric vehicles as taxis. Nissan will provide six 100-percent electric Nissan LEAFs and three Level 2 charging stations at no charge to taxi owners and New York City to test the electrification of the taxi fleet.

The Nissan NV200 Taxi will be produced in North America at Nissan’s manufacturing facility in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Total manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) of the vehicle, with all planned standard features, will be approximately $29,700.

2012 Nissan GT-R Track Pack

2012 Nissan GT-R Track Pack. On the outside, the Nissan GT-R Track Pack features special six-spoke RAYS alloy wheels with gloss black centres. In addition to looking good these wheels give a total weight saving over the standard 2012 GT-R of 10kg.

Track Pack also features special, stiffer suspension designed to optimise track performance. It comprises a harder set-up and increased body rigidity and has been jointly developed with the Nissan GT-R development driver Toshio Suzuki during extensive testing at the Nurburgring. It will allow GT-R customers to achieve the perfect set-up at the track but, thanks to the special dampers, customers will be able to change the suspension for road-use at a flick of a switch, making the Nissan GT-R Track Pack suitable for all environments.

Performance statistics remain unchanged to the ‘standard’ 2012 Nissan GT-R. That means Track Pack customers will still be able to enjoy the GT-R’s 550PS power output, and a 0-62 time of just 2.8 seconds.

The Track Pack is only available in the UK and Japan, and is priced at £10,000 more than the standard £74,450 Nissan GT-R.

2013 Nissan Altima

2013 Nissan Altima. The 2013 Altima’s all-new exterior design starts with its wide, aggressive stance and dramatic front end styling. Though retaining the same wheelbase as the previous generation Nissan Altima, it has a wider front and rear track (+1.4 inches) and deeper fenders (+0.8 inches each side) – which combine with a crisp new grille design, seamless bumper and projector-type headlights to create a bold, sophisticated appearance.

As for the engines, a choice of two proven Altima powerplants – the 2.5-liter DOHC 4-cylinder and 3.5-liter DOHC V6 – are again offered for the new model year.

The 2.5-liter QR25 engine has been redesigned to be lighter and more efficient. It now includes variable valve timing on both exhaust and intake camshafts, and the new intake system opens the valves at a higher rpm to help keep the torque curve flat. Featuring cutting-edge technology such as a new thermoplastic resin intake manifold, this engine simultaneously produced more power despite being lighter. Horsepower has increased by seven to an estimated 182 hp (from 175 hp), while torque remains the same at 180 lb-ft (est.). The advanced, award-winning VQ35DE 3.5-liter V6 remains rated at 270 horsepower (est.) and 258 lb-ft of torque (est.).

Targeted fuel economy for the Nissan Altima 2.5-liter 4-cylinder/CVT combination is 27 mpg city, 38 mpg highway and 31 mpg combined. Fuel economy for the 3.5-liter V6/CVT Altima is rated at 22 mpg city, 30 mpg highway and 25 mpg combined. Also contributing to the improved fuel efficiency are tires with reduced rolling resistance and a new regenerative alternator that only operates when the vehicle is coasting.

The all-new 2013 Nissan Altima is offered in four 2.5-liter engine equipped models, 2.5, 2.5 S, 2.5 SV and 2.5 SL, along with three 3.5-liter V6 equipped models, 3.5 S, 3.5 SV and 3.5 SL.

The Nissan Altima 2.5 S model includes 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, Advanced Drive-Assist™ Display, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, cruise control, Nissan Intelligent Key®, six speakers, auto on/off headlights, in-cabin microfilter, Tire Pressure Monitoring System with individual tire pressure readouts, and much more. 2012 Nissan TeRRA Concept

2012 Nissan TeRRA Concept. The Nissan TeRRA Concept, to be unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show on Sep 27, combines two outstanding Nissan strengths - SUVs and EVs - in a vehicle that is equally in its element off-road in the wild or gliding silently through a sophisticated urban setting. With an innovative 4x4 fuel-cell electric powertrain and an athletic exterior that projects an unforgettable presence beyond its compact dimensions, TeRRA takes sustainable motoring into exciting new territory.

Envisioned as "the one and only Zero Emission SUV," TeRRA builds on Nissan's success with urban-relevant SUVs and crossovers like Murano and Qashqai and asserts that its zero-emission expertise extends all the way to fuel cells. Designed as a functional and flexible choice for tomorrow's youthful, "always on" consumers, TeRRA answers their aspiration for eco-friendliness along with a secure driving feel under any road conditions.

"Our challenge was to take Nissan's strength in SUVs and crossovers forward into the zero-emissions era, fuel cells being our new frontier in zero emission mobility" said Francois Bancon, Nissan's devision general manager of product strategy and planning. "Not big and tough for the desert, the aim was a new approach to SUVs that's relevant to urban life. The unique diagonal seating layout that offers an exciting driving experience thanks to exceptional visibility that creates a sense of being in control under any conditions."

Tough on the outside, warm and welcoming within

"We took our inspiration from the lifestyles of youthful customers in Northern Europe," said Shiro Nakamura, Nissan senior vice president and chief creative officer. "We heard their aspiration for sustainable mobility that can take them anywhere they want to go."

"Exploring our imagination of that natural space with the exterior, we have redefined the power of the SUV heritage in a much more athletic way, one that expresses our vision of the zero emissions future," Nakamura said.

"You have the big tires, high belt-line, thick pillars and thin side windows of the SUV vocabulary. But with a slender waist between pronounced fenders above the wheel arches, and a sculptured hood, we've created an 'Implied Structure' of musculature under the skin. Sharp corners, short overhangs and sculptured lamps contribute to a clean, confident stance. An aerodynamically flat body pan in an eye-catching color, protecting the full length of the underside, completes the image of what we call 'Modern Toughness.'"

Open the door and exterior toughness gives way to a surprisingly warm and welcoming interior. The door panel is a sculpted fusion of blond wood trim and colored acrylic, layered in an intriguing pattern. Ringing the cabin at shoulder height is a metal frame that gives Nissan TeRRA Concept's occupants a feeling of security. The wood/metal contrast continues across the dashboard, a beechwood-acrylic fusion that exudes a soft warmth. On the driver's side, the steering and instrument console gently tapers out toward the driver, barely interrupting the clean lines of the dash.

Seamless digital space...

Facing the driver is a unique instrument cluster. It's an electronic tablet - just like today's popular portable devices - that serves as an "intelligent key." The driver docks it when entering the car and removes it when leaving. When docked in Nissan TeRRA Concept, the tablet's default view displays speed and other key performance indicators. But the driver can easily toggle to entertainment, communications, navigation and other views. Outside the car it provides all the functions we expect from a tablet, plus it stays continually in touch with the vehicle. The idea is seamless information and communication, on the road and everywhere else.

...offers a fresh perspective on the road

Nissan TeRRA Concept's seamlessly connected driver sits front and almost center in a unique diagonal layout that positions rear passengers over the shoulders of those in front, rather than directly behind.

"For the driver to be nearly centered, not seated off to one side, provides a fresh, enlightened perspective with exceptional visibility," Nakamura said. "The diagonal layout allows all passengers to share the vision of adventures up ahead."

The seats themselves express a hexagonal motif that is carried through various aspects of the design. Fold the three passenger seats down and you notice that Nissan TeRRA Concept's cabin deck is completely flat, presenting no obstacles to carrying bikes, kayaks or assemble-yourself furniture from Scandinavia. This flat surface is a function of the remarkably compact powertrain package that creates the possibility of this zero-emission concept.

Power, four-by-four; emissions, zero

Although Nissan TeRRA Concept is presented as a design concept, not a technical exhibit, its proposed 4x4 fuel cell electric powertrain is far from imaginary.

Powering the front wheels is the electric propulsion system currently featured in the Nissan LEAF. In each back wheel, providing all-wheel power as needed, is an in-wheel electric motor, based on the working prototypes featured in three successive PIVO concepts. As no drive shafts are required to power the rear wheels, there is no hump in the cabin floor or on the underbody. This allows for the flat cabin deck and the underside bodypan.

Under the hood is ample space for Nissan's proprietary hydrogen fuel cell stack: a flat, highly compact unit that features world-leading power density of 2.5kW/L. The latest in a series of Nissan fuel cells since 1996, the stack costs just one-sixth of its 2005 predecessor as the need for expensive precious metals has been slashed to one-quarter of the previous level.

TeRRA is purely a concept car, but it signals that Nissan is ready to mass-produce fuel cell electric vehicles whenever hydrogen becomes widely available.

2013 Nissan NV200

The 2013 Nissan NV200 Cargo Van made its official North American debut at the 2012 Chicago auto show. This is despite the fact that the NV200 was previously seen in the streets of New York as one of the leading vehicle models used for as taxis in the city. Upon its debut at the 2012 Chicago auto show, Nissan announced that the event marks the launch of the NV200 as a dependable and utility-driven commercial cargo van.

According to Nissan, the NV200 is set to compete with the popular commercial vans in the US and the rest of the North American market such as the Ford Transit Connect and the Ram Cargo Van. Nissan is quite optimistic that the 2013 Nissan NV200 will be successful in taking on the challenges posed by its closest rivals on the commercial van segment since the company has spent a lot of time, effort, and resources to come up with what they are referring to as the van that was built with an appropriate size, optimized space for cargoes, and impressive fuel economy ratings.

In addition to this, Nissan proudly stated that the 2013 Nissan NV200 cargo van will be sold at a very affordable price. In fact, the company sees that the NV200 will surely become the cheapest commercial van since its price is relatively lower compared to its closest competitors. Given this strategy, a lot of car experts expect that the NV200 might possibly become a hit upon its release since a lot of car buyers who are in the market for commercial vans would surely prioritize a model that is cheaper and more fuel efficient.

Aside from its cheaper price and impressive fuel economy, the 2013 Nissan NV200 is also expected to emerge as a popular commercial cargo van model since it is offered in two trims. This includes the S and SV trims. The S-trim will available with standard equipments such as the power windows, AM/FM/CD stereo that is equipped with an auxiliary input, two speakers mounted on the vehicle's two front doors, 12-volt power outlet found on the instrument panel, and the underseat storage tray found on the passenger seat.

The SV-trim on the other hand is considered is considered as the more upscale version. It is equipped with the standard features found on the S-trim plus the other additional equipments such as the power door locks with automatic locking features, the heated outside mirrors, cruise control, and remote keyless entry that comes with two key fobs.

Finally, the 2013 Nissan NV200 cargo van provides about 123 cubic feet of cargo space and this makes the vehicle suited for loading more cargoes. Although this quite smaller compared to what its closest rivals provide, the dual sliding doors on its sides and the 40/60 split doors on the rear plus the low load floor makes the loading and unloading of cargoes more manageable.

2012 NISSAN JUKE SHIRO unveiled in Brussels

 2012 NISSAN JUKE SHIRO
Launched at the 2012 Brussels Motor Show, Nissan Juke Shiro is aptly named. Shiro means white in Japanese, and the interior of the new version is dominated by a number of white flashes. The centre console, inspired by the shape of a motorcycle fuel tank, has until now only been available in red or grey; in Shiro, it's white. It's the same story when it comes to the door armrests which have white cappings.
Juke Shiro is available with all three engine choices – 110 hp 1.5-litre dCi; 117 hp normally aspirated 1.6-litre petrol; and the turbocharged direct injection petrol 1.6-litre DIG-T which develops 190 hp.. All are front-wheel drive and are coupled to a five- or six-speed manual transmission depending on the engine.
The Juke Shiro 1.6-litre DIG-T version is also available with Nissan’s advanced All-Mode 4×4-i four-wheel drive system which incorporates torque-vectoring technology and which is coupled to the latest generation CVT transmission.
 2012 NISSAN JUKE SHIRO
Built at Nissan's manufacturing plant in the UK, Juke has inspired customers across Europe and helped the Sunderland manufacturing plant reach an all-time production record during 2011 of 480,485 vehicles. Following in the hugely successful footsteps of its big crossover brother, Qashqai, Juke exceeded all expectations to sell over 136,282 units last year, a number that is expected to be beaten in 2012.
Comprehensive standard technology includes Nissan Connect - Nissan's advanced media, communication and navigation centre - a colour reversing camera, Intelligent Key with engine start button, heated front seats, Climate Control, automatic wipers and lights, folding door mirrors and rear privacy glass.
Also standard is the Nissan Dynamic Control System which gives the driver the chance to optimise the car's dynamic functions. Safety equipment includes ESP, six airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist and three head restraints in the rear.
 2012 NISSAN JUKE SHIRO
Nissan Juke Shiro also benefits from a carefully selected accessory package which adds a number of useful features all designed to harmonise with Shiro's white interior features. It includes a centre armrest, complete with white stitching, which also provides additional storage; chrome plated sill protectors for the front door, illuminated in white; and Juke-branded velour floor mats for the front and rear.
Depending on the market, this package is either available as an option or as an integral part of the special Shiro version.
Since its launch in 2010, Juke has redefined the highly competitive B-Segment. Its combination of SUV toughness and sporting style sets it apart from class rivals with its unique design appealing to individual thinkers looking for something different - and the arrival of Nissan Juke Shiro increases the opportunity for them to make a real statement.
 2012 NISSAN JUKE SHIRO
In line with Nissan's philosophy of constant development, a significant engineering change was made to Juke during 2011. Revisions to the final drive ratio of the normally aspirated petrol and diesel models reduced emissions and enhanced refinement by lowering noise levels without affecting the lively acceleration of either car. Emissions from the manual version of the 117PS petrol 1.6 Juke are now 139g/km, while the 1.5 diesel produces just 129g/km allowing it to wear Nissan's PURE DRIVE badge, which signifies a model producing less than 130g/km.
